I. Special Issue on Physical-Layer Security in Wireless Networks

1. Aims and Scopes

This Special Issue aims to provide a view of recent progress on physical-layer security (PLS) techniques in wireless networks. With the rapid development Internet of Things (IoT), 5G tactile Internet, massive MIMO, cognitive radio and smart satellite systems, conventional cryptographic techniques at upper layers face increasing challenges to ensure information security for such modern wireless networks due to their high computational cost and high power-consumption. By exploiting the inherent randomness of transmission channels and hardware impairments, PLS provides an efficient and attractive approach to implement secure wireless transmissions. Active researchers on PLS for wireless communications are highly encouraged to submit their recent original works to this Special Issue. The covered topics include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • PLS for IoT, 5G and Beyond;

  • Advanced coding and modulation for PLS;

  • MIMO, beamforming and time reversal for PLS;

  • Test bed for PLS systems;

  • Spectrum sensing and cognitive radio for PLS;

  • Physical-layer covert communications;

  • Secure transmissions for video surveillance and demotics;

  • Secret key generation for PLS;

  • New technologies for PLS;

  • Physical-layer authentication;

  • Quantum communications;

II. Special Issue on Data Security for Internet of Things

1. Aims and Scopes

This Special Issue aims to provide a view of recent progress on data security techniques in Internet of Things (IoT). With the explosive growth of IoT devices, edge intelligence, 6G-enabled communications, and ubiquitous sensor networks, ensuring data security in IoT environments has become a critical challenge. Traditional security mechanisms often fall short in IoT due to resource constraints, heterogeneous protocols, and dynamic device topologies. This Special Issue aims to bring together cutting-edge research that addresses data security in IoT systems. Active researchers on data security for IoT are highly encouraged to submit their recent original works to this Special Issue. The covered topics include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Data security architectures for IoT ecosystems;

  • Zero-trust architectures for IoT ecosystems;

  • Secure AI methods for IoT;

  • Secure and lightweight authentication schemes for IoT;

  • Post-quantum cryptographic schemes for IoT;

  • Security mechanism for smart homes, factories, and cities;

  • Privacy-preserving data aggregation and federated learning in IoT;

  • Blockchain-based identity and trust management for IoT;

  • Data integrity verification in heterogeneous IoT networks;
